Background: Jens graduated from the University of Hanover where he studied Economics, Mathematics and Politics. During his study, he specialized in Labour Economics and Econometrics. He spent one term at the University of Technology in Lappeenranta (Finland). Before, he studied administration science in Schwerin and worked for one year as placement officer for disadvantaged adolescents at the employment agency in Magdeburg. During his PhD, Jens spent six month at the Industrial Relation Research Unit at the Warwick Business School.
